Alfred Spielmann
Alfred Jay Spielmann is a professional actor who has studied acting and improvisation from Berkeley Rep, ComedySportz San Jose, Synergy, Leela, Second City, People’s Improv Theater, iO Chicago, Merlin Works, Groundlings, Magnet, UCB, Made Up Theater, John Rosenfeld Studios, Camera Left Stage Right, Voice One Voice Over, Killians Commercial Workshop and more.
He has been taught by Armando Diaz, Rachael Mason, Dennis Sakamoto, Susan Messing, Jimmy Carrane, TJ Mannix, Annie Sertich, Casey Feigh, Kenn Adams, Norm Holly, Bart Fisher, Michael Wilcoxen, Steven Burnett, David Razowski, Jenna Johnson, Marvin Greene, Cory Willis, Jill Bernard, Tara DeFrancisco and Rance Rizzutto, Shawn Landry, Shana Merlin and others. He was a member of a Second City based improv team the Time Zone Tamagotchis and currently is a member of Roll the Dice Improv Team, ComedySportz Rec League and Leftovers a la Mode.
In addition to improvising, Alfred has had a diverse career path. He has a law degree from University of California, Hastings College of the Law, and an undergraduate degree in Radio/Television from California State University, San Francisco.
He has worked as a radio air talent, commercial copywriter, mobile disc jockey, broadcast journalist, radio traffic reporter, media coordinator at an advertising agency, newspaper reporter and sports editor and was a criminal defense trial attorney for 25 years.
Retiring early from a job as a Deputy Public Defender Attorney, Alfred quickly made the pivot to acting. He’s been cast in several short films, commercials and corporate videos and is working on creating a professional voice-over demo.
Alfred was born in the Bronx, New York and lived most of his life in the San Francisco Bay Area.
He was a contestant on Let’s Make a Deal and Wheel of Fortune.
He is represented by JTA Talent.
His cat, Abby and dog, Pancake do not get along well.
